PHOTOGRAPHer, WRITEr, SINGer, ACTor, LISTENer, THINKer, SPEAKer, ENCOURAGEr, TRAVELer, DREAMer, DOer.
John missed out on getting into professional writing at uni by 3 points, so opted for a bachelor of contemporary arts instead. He is not graphic inclined as it is too mathematical and he has enough trouble as it is ruling a straight line let alone getting margins even.
THAT SAID, he has been playing around with Photoshop since he was about 15, and has been taking photos for longer. Growing up in a family of seven means that his life was always surroundd by numerous others, so the majority of his creative work is people based.
John worked in retail for 8 years, serving gentlemen who thought they were platinum in shoes. He has learned a lot about human nature, the difference between needing to serve and choosing to serve.
The intention in John's photograph particularly is to show the reality of a person. To capture some aspect of the individual that others may not have realised or even seen before. To show someone for who they are not just how they look is what John hopes his art can acheive, and trusts that that makes his work memorable.
Apart from writing in the third person about himself, John does occasionally write poetry, monologues, short plays/skits, as well as very eloquent yet strong worded feedback letters to clothing companies that decide that they will not provide menswear for anyone who is over 6 foot and not built a bit bigger than Michael Klim. Pet peeve, wanting to wear nice clothes and not being able to.
All that aside, John's treat to self is seeing movies with friends, watching dance pieces and admiring what other brilliantly talented people can do.
So comment (particularly if you plan on favouriting anything), say hello, and make him feel welcome.
Love and admiration to you all,
John E =^)
